Volunteers who have worked in HR, retail, logistics and healthcare will review your CV, practise interview questions with you and help you tailor your story for a new field. Bring a printed copy or your phone. One hour each, free, for any age. Book through WhatsApp and we will match you with someone from a similar field.
No contact details provided.
Before you go
Meet at a public place or a community centre. Be wary of anyone who asks you to pay before you have met. Never share your OTP, Singpass or bank details. If something feels wrong, report it.
Kallang Skills Exchange
A group of working professionals and retirees in Kallang, Bendemeer and Geylang who share what they know for free. We run Digital Buddies, where volunteers sit one-to-one with seniors to set up phones, banking apps and video calls; Job Ready Saturdays, with CV clinics and mock interviews for jobseekers of any age; and a fortnightly Language Cafe where people practise English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil over coffee. We meet in the common room at a Bendemeer rental block and the community club library. Nobody pays and nobody is tested; you simply turn up.
Help weed, water and harvest forty raised beds on Saturday mornings. We will show you what to do and lend gloves and boots. Some of the best parts are planting kangkong and chilli, and carrying the harvest to the blocks next door. Bring a hat and a water bottle. Families with children are welcome.
For: Anyone
Saturdays, 8am to 11am
Our nursery has more chilli, kangkong and brinjal seedlings than the garden can use. Collect a tray of eight for your balcony, plus a bag of compost, free. We will show you how to repot them and where to put them. Please bring a bag or a small container. Seedlings go quickly, so message before you come.
For: Anyone
Saturday mornings while stocks last
Pick a table, order a kopi and chat with native speakers and fellow learners. Tables are labelled by language and by level, from first words to confident conversation. A volunteer host helps if you get stuck. Come alone or with a friend. Free and relaxed; students, workers and retirees all welcome.
For: Anyone
Every second Sunday, 3pm to 5pm
